This course has really opened my eyes to just how 'behind' the general classroom (no matter the topic or course) is in today's technological world. One thing in particular that has stuck with since the first week is how students feel when school requires them to go to a book and research and then write a report, long hand. But, in real life, the kids are surfing the internet, blogging, etc...things that many of us teachers aren't even doing yet. Thank goodness, due to this course, I now understand blogging, and how to use many of the tools that are available out there.
I plan on using my knowledge to creat videos/pics of song/stories to help my students to learn knew songs, different genres and composers. I am very glad that I chose this course for my summer training. :)

Final Tests
I was actually pleased to have scored in the mid 80 percentile for both of the exams. No matter which ones I missed, the questions concerning spreadsheets are the most 'uncomfortable' for me. I can tell that I would do well to learn more about these. And, I would like to learn more about online group projects.
Week 8 - FAT
While examining and learning about the projects, I realized that for me, as an elementary music teacher, it is ALL about F.A.T - Find, Adapt and Teach. I can see the benefits of the various projects, though I feel that adaptation would be a must for my classroom. When I viewed the video of F.A.T. I knew exactly what to write for this weeks assignment.

Week 7
Out of the three educational 'tools' researched in this weeks lesson, I can certainly imagine that wordle will be very beneficial with regards to muscial terms. Also, I can visualize 'terra clues' as a way to reinforce music of the world and the countries of origin. As the music instructor, I would like to consider/or plan to have students computer time be spent exercising some of the technology activities that we have learned about.

Week 2
This is soooooo.... much fun. I am looking forward to using these 'learned' skills to enhance my teaching abilities. Putting together the Voki (sp? LOL) was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I sure hope I am doing everything right so far. Have a great day!

I am thrilled that I have signed up for this course. This can only be a 'win-win' for my students. The video that addressed the students desire for 'learning' in this century really hit home in with the fact the old style of teaching just doesn't work any more. Through the Web 2.0 tutorial I was impressed with how much info I did not have. Yes, I'm now read to enter into the 21st Century Teaching!!!
